Restoring Symbolic and Sacred Dimensions of Birth

Silence, darkness, chaos, formless voids, cosmic eggs, world trees, divine speech, light. That’s how our creation stories used to begin. Today our epic origin stories have been deemed obsolete. Every culture had its own take on creation, which is fascinating in and of itself, but for most people today, there’s no connection.
Myths? Those are just old metaphors, right? Can we get back to scrolling our lives away now?
In our search for truth, we should use all the available tools at hand. Science is one of our best tools, despite its limitations. It names the parts, not the meaning. To be clear, I’m not dismissing science. It explains the mechanics of birth very well, but it omits the sacredness of it. Archetype Vision explores what science cannot grasp: the MIRACLE OF LIFE ITSELF.
Do we know what birth is? Surely we’ve all crossed the threshold into existence ourselves. We’ve heard about birth, studied it, seen it in movies, perhaps even birthed our own children. Yet from these shared experiences, nothing in our current cultural discourse prepares us for a moment that demands reverence. At best, the conversations regarding birth are sentimental yearnings for the past. At worst, birth is described as clinical, commodified, statistical. It’s made out to sound like the most sterile thing ever, but in reality, it’s the POLAR OPPOSITE of sterility. CREATION is wild and CHAOTIC.
Which brings me to my main point: “DEATH is the great unifier,” but what about BIRTH? Jesus Christ. Flip fucking the coin already!
This first cycle of Archetype Vision, BIRTH: The Mystery of Creation is about putting all the profane bullshit aside and injecting THE SACRED back into LIFE. I want a REBIRTH for BIRTH. Something primal, symbolic, archetypal. I want my children to inherit a world that celebrates LIFE. A world that embraces mystery, that appreciates simple beauty, that moves with purpose. WE NEED NEW MYTHS.
